Ernest co-creator and director John R. "Buster" Cherry III suffered from Parkinson's for many years before finally succumbing to it in 2022. He was a very funny man and generous friend to Montgomery Bell State Park. He enjoyed meeting and interacting with Ernest fans at the first several Ernest Day events. We honor his memory by continuing to support The Parkinson's Foundation
